Steam Frame reservations are now open, and the Arcturus Vision Camera we recently covered is available to order. The camera adds color passthrough to Steam Frame, and Arcturus explicitly promotes the combination as a setup for recording stereoscopic (spatial) video.
For anyone who has already decided to buy Steam Frame, the €157 camera module could be an appealing way to experiment with spatial video capture. It is a relatively modest addition to the headset’s price, and its announced specifications look promising. We have yet to see sample spatial-video recordings, however, so it remains to be seen how those specifications translate into image quality.
Below are the reservation and purchase links, with prices displayed for customers in Germany.
